What we check first
A proper assessment, not a guess
Whether an existing switchboard can support a dedicated EV charger depends on its available capacity, condition and the property's existing electrical loads. We check your available capacity, your vehicle's charging requirements and where the charger needs to go before recommending equipment, so you're not sold a unit — or an upgrade — you don't need.

Confirms whether your existing supply and switchboard can support a dedicated EV circuit, and what an upgrade would involve if not.
Charger and location planning
Charger placement, cable run and mounting worked out for your garage, carport or driveway.
Circuit and safety switch install
Dedicated circuit wired and protected to Australian Standards, correctly rated for the charger installed.
Charger installation
Wall-mounted charger installed and commissioned, including app or scheduling setup where applicable.
Solar integration, where relevant
If you have or are adding solar, charging can be configured to prioritise self-generated power where the charger supports it.
Ongoing support
A point of contact for servicing or troubleshooting after installation.

Typical install timeline
A straightforward install — switchboard already has capacity — is usually completed in a single visit. If a switchboard upgrade is needed first, that's scoped and quoted separately during your assessment, so there are no surprises on install day.

EV charging, answered plainly
Can my switchboard support an EV charger?
Many older switchboards don't have available capacity for a dedicated EV circuit without an upgrade. We check this before recommending a charger, and explain what's involved if an upgrade is needed. See switchboard upgrades.
Single-phase or three-phase charging?
Most homes run single-phase power, which suits standard home EV charging speeds. Three-phase supply allows faster charging where available and where the vehicle supports it. We'll confirm what your property has during the assessment.
Can I charge from solar during the day?
Some chargers support solar-aware or scheduled charging so you draw more from your own system and less from the grid. Whether this suits you depends on your solar system size and your charger model.
